Our Restaurant Review Policies:

Please submit your review using the form above, ensuring all required fields are filled in. We'll read and possibly edit the review for spelling, grammar, length, clarity and politeness. Foul language will not be tolerated in reviews. While we may edit the review, we will strive to maintain its overall positive or negative nature.

You will receive an e-mail from us to verify your e-mail address. You must respond to that verification e-mail before we consider posting your review.

We add reviews to our review section as quickly as possible and as appropriate. You will be identified by your first and last name. If you're not willing to take responsibility for what you want to say about a restaurant, then don't submit a review.

We will not post a review if:

The Niagara Guide has a "3-strikes-we-post" policy which works like this:

When the first negative review is received for a particular restaurant, we will contact the restaurant in question informing them they received a negative review and ask them if they're willing to work with you to resolve your complaint. If so, you will be sent the contact information for the person responsible at the restaurant and you can contact them at your discretion to hopefully come to a resolution of the problem.

We will, at our discretion, follow up with you and/or the restaurant to determine whether the complaint was resolved or remedied to your satisfaction.

If a second or third negative review is received for the same restaurant from different people*, we will follow the procedures outlined in points #1 and #2.

* If you didn't like the place, you shouldn't have gone back and we won't accept any further negative reviews from you for that particular restaurant.

If a fourth negative review is received for that restaurant and we find the restaurant does not work with reviewers to remedy the situation, we will begin posting those reviews.

Because The Niagara Restaurant Guide is supported by advertisers, we automatically pass along negative reviews to our advertisers to give them the option to respond to the criticism and/or make amends at their discretion prior to any negative reviews being posted for them.

These are our policies surrounding restaurant reviews. We feel this process provides a balance between the abilities of restaurant patrons to share their experiences at Niagara restaurants while ensuring as best as possible that reviews are accurate and that negative experiences can be a) validated, b) addressed and c) remedied.

We take these steps to validate reviews (and negative reviews in particular) because without these steps, it is possible for a single person to unfairly boost or malign the reputation of a restaurant and we do not want The Niagara Restaurant Guide to be used that way.
