to Something a Little Different . . . The Keg Steakhouse & Bar Located
in Historic St. Catharines.
We
started with a good recipe. Welcome to a truly great steakhouse. It's
casual, comfortable and the steaks are delicious. The Keg has been around
since 1971 and has grown into a family of over 85 locations across North
America. We're not one of those themed restaurants. We're not stuffy
and we're affordable. Come discover what makes our recipe for a great
steakhouse so inviting.
We have history.
The Keg Steakhouse & Bar is located in the historical "Independent
Rubber Co. Ltd" building. The building has a wonderful history.
In the 1850's the building was known as the Beaver Cotton Mills (and
later Merritton Cotton Mills). With the second Welland Canal nearby,
the site was a natural for industrial use. In 1881 the mill burned down,
and was replaced with an outstanding red mottled sandstone structure.
This business closed in 1906 and six years later the buildings were
converted into the Independent Rubber Company. This business operated
for only 10 years and the building stood vacant until 1935 when Interlake
Tissue Mills of Merritton bought the site to use for storage. The property
was subsequently sold to Domtar. Today, this magnificent building is
home to The Keg Steakhouse & Bar, complete with the enormous black
iron boiler door! You can't beat the atmosphere here!
We
love steak as much as you. We take a great deal of pride in the steak
we serve. The Keg serves only the finest cuts. We make sure every steak
is consistently aged for tenderness. We use a very special blend of
seasonings. And of course, we ensure that every steak is grilled to
perfection. All this guarantees that a tender, succulent, flavorful
steak comes off the grill every time.
Knowledgeable, friendly
service is key. The quality of The Keg's employees is another key reason
for our success. We know steak and we know how to make you feel right

We

to mouthwatering steaks, The Keg also serves tender chicken, succulent
seafood, slow-roasted prime rib and other entrees as well as delicious
appetizers, crisp salads and legendary desserts. Every exceptional meal
deserves a superb glass of wine. We have an extensive wine list and
very knowledgeable staff that can assist you with your decision.
